01Troubleshooting guide
Incomplete buttonhole: check the foot, lever and feeding
Automatic buttonholes depend on the correct foot, a fully lowered sensor lever and fabric that feeds without slipping.
02
Most likely causes
- The buttonhole lever is not pulled down fully or does not contact its stop.
- The button is not secured in the foot gauge or the wrong stitch is selected.
- Soft or stretchy fabric shifts because it lacks stabiliser.
03Step
Check in this order
- 01Step 1
Remove the work, select the buttonhole again and attach the specified buttonhole foot.
- 02Step 2
Place the button in the rear gauge and pull the buttonhole lever fully down as the manual shows.
- 03Step 3
Fit stabiliser beneath the test fabric and lower the presser foot completely.
- 04Step 4
Start on a scrap without holding back the fabric and let the programmed cycle finish.

What should restore normal sewing
The machine should sew both columns and both bartacks before stopping or signalling completion.
Clean the sensor area and feed dogs if the cycle remains irregular.
