01Troubleshooting guide
Handwheel stuck or thread jammed: intervene without force
A tight handwheel means something is resisting the mechanism. Powering through it can damage gears, the hook or the needle bar.
02
Most likely causes
- Thread is wrapped around the hook or trapped below the needle plate.
- The needle is bent into the fabric or bobbin case.
- The bobbin winder is still engaged on a model that disconnects sewing.
03Step
Check in this order
- 01Step 1
Switch off and unplug the machine. Do not press the foot control.
- 02Step 2
Raise the presser foot if possible, cut the top and bottom threads and release the fabric gently.
- 03Step 3
Remove the needle, bobbin and bobbin case as the manual permits, then cut away visible thread pieces.
- 04Step 4
Disengage the bobbin winder and turn the handwheel toward you only, using light pressure.

What should restore normal sewing
The handwheel should complete a smooth turn by hand before thread and fabric are reinstalled.
Clean the accessible hook area and reassemble each part in the exact manual position.
