Thread bunching under the fabric: correct the threading
A nest underneath often points to the upper thread, not the bobbin tension. The upper thread may be outside the tension discs or take-up lever.
02
Most likely causes
- The machine was threaded with the presser foot down.
- The upper thread missed the take-up lever.
- The bobbin is inserted backwards or its thread is outside the guide.
03Step
Check in this order
- 01Step 1
Switch off, lift the needle and presser foot, then cut and remove the nest without pulling the fabric.
- 02Step 2
Remove both threads and clean loose lint from the bobbin area.
- 03Step 3
Rethread the upper path with the presser foot raised and confirm the take-up lever is threaded.
- 04Step 4
Insert the correct bobbin in the direction shown in the manual and hold both thread tails for the first stitches.

What should restore normal sewing
A correctly tensioned upper path should lock the stitch inside the fabric rather than making loops underneath.
Test slowly on scrap fabric; leave factory bobbin-case screws untouched.
