01Troubleshooting guide
Sewing machine making a high-pitched noise
A sharp new sound is a reason to stop and inspect, not to sew faster. Needle damage, trapped thread and an incorrect bobbin can all change the sound of the hook area.
02
Most likely causes
- The sound began after changing the needle, bobbin or thread.
- The noise follows each stitch and is strongest near the needle plate or bobbin cover.
- Stitches have also become irregular, tight or looped.
03Step
Check in this order
- 01Step 1
Switch off and unplug the machine, remove the needle and inspect it for a bent shaft, blunt point or burr.
- 02Step 2
Remove the upper thread completely and rethread with the presser foot raised, following every guide in the model manual.
- 03Step 3
Take out the bobbin and any user-removable case, then clear thread pieces and accessible lint from the feed dogs and hook race exactly as the manual allows; inspect the case for scratches or damage.
- 04Step 4
Install the exact bobbin class in the stated direction, fit a correct new needle and turn the handwheel slowly by hand before testing on scrap.

What should restore normal sewing
A straight, correctly installed needle and a correctly rethreaded upper path often remove a rhythmic squeak caused at each stitch.
Use only the bobbin class, material and case specified for the exact model; a bobbin that appears similar can sit at the wrong height.
